A cosy and stylish cottage, 5 minutes walk from Whitstable’s famous High Street with its unique independent shops, restaurants and galleries, and 10 minutes to the beach. With three bedrooms over two upper floors, Haven Cottage sleeps six, plus the option to sleep an extra two people on a day bed. The quirky garden enjoys the sunshine from early morning right through to the evening, so perfect for Al fresco dining and relaxing when back from the beach.

Haven Cottage is a lovely three bedroom mid-terraced cottage nestled in Essex Street, Whitstable. The cottage has been tastefully decorated throughout, with a scattering of antique pieces and some quirky touches.

Ground Floor:

Entrance door opens into living room, seating 6 on a sofa, and two small chairs, smart TV, WiFi, and electric stove fire place. There are plenty of board games and DVD’s for you to use during your stay.

Internal hallway leads to the stairs, and also a cloakroom WC.

Through to the kitchen/diner with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, gas hob and electric oven, everything needed to cook up a feast or enjoy a takeaway. Dining table seating 6 with 4 chairs and a bench.

The seaside themed, sunny south facing garden is comprised of decking, shingle and artificial grass, and includes patio furniture and two BBQ’s.

Bedroom 1 has a double bed, wardrobe and bedside tables.

Bedroom 2 has two single beds, wardrobe and a desk.

Bathroom with shower over bath, wash basin and WC.

Second Floor:

Bedroom 3 is an L-shaped room with king size bed, smart TV and hanging space at one end, dressing table at the other end and in the middle is a day bed that can be used as an additional sleeping space, either as a single bed or pulls out to form a double. There's also a Playstation, Xbox and games in the storage chest that you're welcome to use.

Bed linen and towels provided.

Dogs are welcome.

House Rules:

We want you to enjoy your stay as much as possible whilst following our few house rules:

  • Check in is after 3.00pm on the first day of the booking.
  • Check out is before 10.00am on the day of departure. 
  • Smoking in or near the property is not permitted.
  • Parties and events are not permitted.
  • Where dogs are permitted, they are not allowed on any furniture or in bedrooms, and should not be left unattended.
  • We respect our neighbours, and ask you to ensure that noise is kept to a reasonable level, particularly after 10.00pm.
  • The property should be left in the same condition it was found - clean, tidy, dishes washed/dishwasher running, etc.


This home is on a residential street in Whitstable, one of Kent's real treasures, and is a short stroll away from the train station and seafront. Whitstable's famous high street with its unique independent shops, restaurants, and galleries is only five minutes walk.


There's a lot to see within walking distance, so if you decide to stay without a car you'll have plenty to do. If you drive, the parking outside the property and the surrounding streets is unrestricted, it can get busy but a space can usually be found in the area. The buses to Canterbury and beyond run along the main road, so you're a few minutes from where they stop. The train station is 10 minutes walk away. High speed trains from Whitstable run straight to St Pancras in just over an hour and round to Dover and Margate in less.
